When you receive notice of a condemnation, or believe that you will be affected by a condemnation in connection with a public project, so as to assure that your right and interests are protected, do not ignore these notices. As soon as you become aware of the project which can affect your interests and, unquestionably, if you receive a notice of condemnation, you should immediately contact your counsel.

It is important that your counsel gets involved early in the process. Protection of your rights is subject to strict claim filing and time requirements. Failure to timely file your claim in the proper form could result in the loss of your right to additional compensation. No documents should be signed by you without first conferring with your counsel.
